The Path Leading To Success

All of us have that yearning to be successful. No wonder why when we hear the word success, we scale it high because it indicates achievement, accomplishment and a reached dream. We wish to be at the path leading to success. But the measure of personal success depends on how a person perceives it. To some, they measure success by material possessions, fame and power. To some, it’s simply reaching their dreams like being able to finish their college degrees and to land on a good company and good-paying jobs or simply having a happy family.

In my eight months of blogging, if I’m going to measure success by the number of subscribers or followers, I would arrive to the conclusion that I’m unsuccessful and that’s really disheartening. But though I know I still have a long way to go to be “IN” to this success-measurement but for me, I have already attained success many times. Why? Because for not just once or twice I’ve considered stopping, the inner warrior in me keeps on reviving my enthusiasm and optimism and thus I overcome all my trepidations and I am still going on. I emerged a winner in defeating my fears and hesitations, so I call it a success. For me to achieve success in the world’s standard and point of view, I must continue to be a successful overcomer of discouragement brought by failures.

I wrote this to encourage you who are reading this if you are in that state when your patience is hanging on a thread, I do hope you won’t quit. Quitting won’t lead you to the realization of your dreams. It is hard work, it is determination and it is perseverance that will.  To achieve success is like climbing up a steep hill. You need to exert effort to move upward and never stop until you reach the top. As you climb, you may fall. Failing is painful and discouraging. It may impair your will to continue but if you take it as a learning experience, failures become instrumental in making a better, stronger you. Winston Churchill once quoted that “Success is walking from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”  Yes, only those that failed but never give up are able to attain success. You failed, move on. Failures are indicators that you are heading to the path of success as what Thomas J. Watson said “Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It’s quite simple, really: Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it, so go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember that’s where you will find success.”  and Helen Keller said, “Characters cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.So rekindle that enthusiastic soul in you. You can make it, you can finish the journey if you do the right action, and that is; to continue moving forward. Conrad Hilton believe in that principle;“Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.”

Success is not a commodity that you can just buy from store; it’s something that you have to work hard for, surmounting all the obstacles and hardships along the way. Here are some more quotations to inspire you;

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”— Winston S. Churchill

“There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed.”— Ray Goforth

“Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better.”— Jim Rohn

“All progress takes place outside the comfort zone.”— Michael John Bobak

These people succeeded because they weren’t afraid of failures and despite failing they continue, they carry on, they kept trying until they became successful. People who tried, failed and stopped are those who doesn’t want to leave their comfort zone. Their comfort zone is their belief that they can never make it. If you are reading this and you are one of those who are getting discouraged whether it is in blogging, in writing, in arts, in business, in studies, in jobs, family affairs, social affairs or whatever it is that you’re starting to give up, please don’t. As long as you are breathing and as long as there is a new day, there will always be a new beginning, a new hope. You can go back to what you have started or you can start a new venture and be determined to persevere to be at the path of success.   It’s normal to be discouraged sometimes, I have been there many, many times, but I never quit and I never will. What makes me persist and keep on going? It’s my faith in God. I strongly believe that there is SomeOne watching me, the Supreme Ruler and Creator of the universe who’s taking care of me and He will see me through. So for me, success cannot be measured by fame, power and wealth. This has been proven because there are many rich, famous and powerful people who have committed suicide. Real success is a good success and that is not just simply reaching your dreams, it’s not simply being on the top of the world. Good success is having it with peace of mind and joy. The quotations above may help you revived your enthusiasm and get going but there is a word full of wisdom that will lead you to the path of good success, the kind of success with peace of mind, contentment and joy and that’s what matters most.

Joshua 1:9 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”
