Do you already have an idea what to give your mom on this Mother’s Day? Remember, it’s fast approaching so I think it’s better to start thinking now how you could make your mother happy on that very special day. We celebrate Mothers Day only once a year, and I believe mothers deserve to be remembered for their significance in our lives. Even if we give them the most expensive gift available in store, we cannot repay them for bringing us into the world, for raising us and for forming our lives.
“Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?”– Isaiah 49:15
I am thinking of what to blog on Mother’s Day to pay tribute to all the mothers in the world. I’m considering writing short stories or maybe some poems. But are these enough? I think no. There’s no form of literature, nor painting or art would suffice to describe the important role and the sacrifices of a mother. I hope I could be able to illustrate them, I’ll try in my small ways. At least just to let all mothers know that they are loved, appreciated and remembered. I am a mother too. And my three daughters are now all mothers. Actually, my youngest just gave birth to a bouncing baby girl on April 29,2018 just a day after our family losses a member. She gave birth to a baby that brings joy in the midst of the family’s mourning.
Now, how can we describe a mother? The word “mother” does not speaks alone of women who bore child or children. A mother is a woman who does the very important role that formed the lives of her children either by blood or not. A mother is a protector, a disciplinarian, a friend, a shoulder to cry on, a teacher, a mentor, a preacher, a faithful cheerleader for every victory and milestone her kids achieved. She is a selfless, loving human who must sacrifice many of her wants and needs for the wants and needs of her children and a familiar hand to hold and to lead her children back when they go astray. A mother is a sacrificing human willing to have sleepless nights when her child is sick. She has made life more colorful than it could be. There are many more adjectives that describe a mother but even if we put all those together, they are inadequate to completely illustrate her role and importance.
So starting today until on Mother’s Day, all my articles will be about mothers. I would like to write poems, stories, gift suggestions, etc. exclusively for mothers but for everybody to read. Let’s make our mom happy while they’re still on earth with us because there might come a time when we would wish to give her our best expression of love but she couldn’t hear and feel it anymore, for she might be gone on that day. I believe that any gift your mother may receive from you will make them glad but still, the best gift that a mom would surely treasure in her heart is our love. Nothing can equate this gift.
“God’s grace provides for the barren ones a joyful home with children so that even childless couples find a family. He makes them happy parents surrounded by their pride and joy. That’s the God we praise, so give it all to him! – Psalm 113:9
